Tameka N. Ellington, Ph.D.Tameka N. Ellington , Ph.D., is a tenured Associate Professor in the Fashion School and Associate Dean of the College of the Arts at the Kent State University. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in fashion design from KSU, a Master’s of Arts degree in apparel & textile design from Michigan State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in curriculum and instruction from KSU. Her experiences in the fashion industry include visual merchandising, design, and technical design. Her creative research is often inspired by African and African American fables and folklore where she uses batik, digital textile design, and leather tooling. Dr. Ellington’s research interests include social-psychological aspects of dress for African Americans and other minorities, such as people with disabilities. Her creative work and publications have received national and international recognition, including the International Textile and Apparel Association “Rising Star Award.”

Stacey R. Lim, Au.D., Ph.D, CCC-AStacey R. Lim, Au.D., Ph.D., CCC-A is an Associate Professor of Audiology at Central Michigan University. She received her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the College of Wooster, her Doctor of Audiology Degree from the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium, and her Ph.D. in audiology from The College of Wooster. She was also a Fulbright Scholar in 2001-2002, where she researched the social, educational, and political support for people who were deaf or hard of hearing in Germany. She teaches at the graduate and undergraduate levels. She also supervises in the university audiology clinic. Her areas of research focus also include aural (re)habilitation, cochlear implants, and literacy in children who are deaf/hard of hearing. Dr. Lim was also born with profound, sensorineural, bilateral hearing loss and she wears a hearing aid and cochlear implant. Her favorite hearing aids that she has owned were purple.
